Notice is hereby given that sealed or electronic bids will be received for:

Project Title: FAIRGROUNDS ARENA IMPROVEMENTS

Project Location: TISHOMINGO COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS IUKA, MS

Sealed bids will be received until Thursday, January 15, 2026, and then publicly opened and read aloud. Work shall be for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment and performing all work necessary to complete the Project.

The overall Project scope of work consists of construction of a 220’ x 170’ arena structure, associated electrical/lighting, and subsurface drainage piping at the Tishomingo County Fairgrounds in Iuka, Mississippi, as shown on the Contract Drawings.

Contract documents, including drawings and specifications, may be examined at the Chancery Clerk’s office at the Tishomingo County Courthouse, located at 1008 Battleground Drive in Iuka, Mississippi.

Plans and Contract Documents are being made available via original paper copy or electronically. Plan holders are required to login or register for an account at www.tishomingocountybids.com to view and order Bid Documents. All plan holders are required to have a valid email address for registration. Bid documents are non refundable and must be purchased through the website. Bids will only be accepted from Bidders who are listed on the Plan Holder’s List, signifying that a set of documents has been purchased from Plan House Printing. The Project Engineer will be available for a pre bid conference on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Tishomingo County Courthouse in the Chancery Clerk’s office at 1008 Battleground Drive in Iuka, Mississippi. A pre bid conference is not required for the Project. However, all bidders are highly encouraged to attend.

Each bid submitted must be marked on the outside “FAIRGROUNDS ARENA IMPROVEMENTS.” Any bid more than $50,000 must contain on the outside of the envelope the contractor’s current certificate of responsibility number and no bid shall be opened or considered unless this number appears on the outside of the envelope or unless a statement is included on the outside of the envelope indicating that the bid enclosed does not exceed $50,000.

A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an accepted Surety, a certified check, or bank draft payable to TISHOMINGO COUNTY shall be submitted with each bid in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid.

A Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, with a corporate surety approved by TISHOMINGO COUNTY, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract.

In the letting of public contracts, preference shall be given to resident contractors, and a nonresident bidder domiciled in a state having laws granting preference to local contractors shall be awarded Mississippi public contracts only on the same basis as the nonresident bidder’s state awards contracts to Mississippi contractors bidding under similar circumstances; and resident contractors actually domiciled in Mississippi, be they corporate, individuals, or partnerships, are to be granted preference over nonresidents in awarding of contracts in the same manner and to the same extent as provided by the laws of the state of domicile of the nonresident. When a nonresident contractor submits a bid for a public project, he shall attach thereto a copy of his resident state’s current law pertaining to such state’s treatment of nonresident contractors. Any bid submitted by a nonresident contractor which does not include the nonresident contractor's current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award.

The right is reserved, as TISHOMINGO COUNTY may require, to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in the bids received.

Bids may be held up to 60 days from the date of opening for review of bids and qualifications of bidders prior to Contract award.
